SERVERS + BARTENDERS
We are looking for servers and bartenders to work catering events between May and November. Shifts are primarily evenings and weekends, at various venues across Western, MA.
Positions available for both infrequent, on-call shifts, and regularly scheduled shifts.
Bartenders should be TIPS and/or ServeSafe Alcohol certified.
Compensations is hourly and commensurate with experience.

SERVERS
The Server position is an important role that works with our Event Managers and the other serving staff members to ensure the overall success of Wheelhouse’s catering engagements. Servers will be instrumental in the customer-facing relationship of the catering events and deliver exceptional hospitality. Servers are reliable individuals with self-starting qualities and a great work ethic. Servers are able to work most Saturdays and some Fridays/Sundays through the beginning of May to the end of October at venues across Western Massachusetts and surrounding areas.
Server Duties and Responsibilities:
Events:
Event Set-Up: Servers will assist with event set-up and coordinate with other staff on how to properly set guest tables, appetizer tables, buffet tables, etc.
Serving: Servers will be serving, re-stocking, bussing, etc. during the event, along with the Lead Server and Event Manager. This is a very hands-on role.
Event Break Down: Servers will assist with clearing tables, washing dishes, organizing catering equipment and decor, alongside the Lead Server and Event Manager.
Server Requirements:
Experience as a server with great hospitality skills.
Possess an upbeat, team player attitude!
Must have reliable transportation.
The ability to work extended hours standing.
The ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Current Tips/Servsafe Certification is a plus but not required
Compensation: $15/hr + tips (in 2019, staff received an average of $3/hr in tips)
BARTENDERS
The Bartender position is a fun and important role that works with our Event Managers and the other bartending staff members to ensure the overall success of Wheelhouse’s bartending engagements at catering events. Bartenders will be instrumental in making and serving drinks as well as delivering exceptional hospitality. Bartenders should be reliable individuals with self-starting qualities and a great work ethic. Bartenders should be able to work most Saturdays and some Fridays/Sundays through the beginning of May to the end of October at venues across Western Massachusetts and surrounding areas.
Server Duties and Responsibilities:
Events:
Event Set-Up: Bartenders will work with the Lead Bartender to set-up the bar, learn how to make signature cocktails or specialty drinks, and become familiar with the all of the available drink options at the event.
Serving: Bartenders will be serving guests, re-stocking the bar, providing wine service at the tables, etc. during the event, along with the other bartenders and Lead Bartender. This is a very hands-on role.
Event Break Down: Bartenders will assist with clearing glassware at tables, breaking down the bar-set up, and organizing alcohol to be returned to the client, alongside the other bartenders and Lead Bartender.
Server Requirements:
